Arnies Airsoft October 2006

The following are an excerpts from a review of the BIV04 Rip-Stop Bivi Bag on Arnie's Airsoft. Click here to read the whole review.

"To conclude then, this bivi bag is a no-nonsense effective method of keeping the user comfortable at night. The bivi-bag is lightweight and extremely compact, making it perfect for skirmish use, and well constructed to fine tolerances with no noticeable manufacturing issues. Any user using this should find it an excellent alternative to a tent, and I would consider this an invaluable piece of kit for any airsofter planning on attending larger milsim events where tents may not be appropriate."

Arnies Airsoft July 2006

The following are an excerpts from a review of the N.A.T.O. Boot on Arnies Airsoft. Click here to read the whole review.

"One thing I noticed was that for once the various jargon-fantastic selling points which you always get with any new item actually seemed to have some bearing to reality. When running for example, the 'heel energy absorption' did in fact mean that the impact of my feet on the floor as I ran did feel absorbed by the robust heels, and while I had no opportunity to dangle my feet in any pools of water, in the light rain which casually cropped up throughout the day, at no point was there a hint of uncomfortable moisture inside my socks. "

"Make no mistake folks, these boots aren't the Hyundai or Kia of the military footworld world: these are the closest you'll get to a BMW. At the end, as with most other things in life, a simple question will help you decide if this is the footwear for you: are you willing to pay for quality and comfort? If not then maybe these aren't for you. If so than I am fairly sure that this is one pair of boots which you won't regret."

SGB Outdoor June 2006

we recieved the following write-up of our highlander compass watches in SGB Outdoor magizine.

Scottish outdoor manufacturer, Highlander, is continuing to expand its range of hill walking and mountaineering electronics. Their dual focus on both military and outdoor markets means that their electronics are designed to be both functional and reliable.

Although they recently released a large range of high-powered L.E.D. torches and headlamps, their original focus was on electronic navigation and it shows. The two highlights of their navigation range are the Digital Compass Watch and the Digital Altimeter Watch.

Unlike many specialist outdoor watches, the Highlander range is compact and stylish in appearance while still remaining simple to use. In addition to the expected functions of stopwatch, multiple alarms, dual time display, water resistant case and a powerful backlight, both watches feature a large, easy to read display.

The compass (included on both watches) works on a simple single touch system, allowing you quickly and easily take a bearing without waiting for the needle to settle. The Digital Altimeter Watch provides the full range of altimeter, barometer and thermometer functions wrapped up in a sleek and user-friendly case. The thermometer has a range of -10°C to +60°C and can display in either °C or °F. The barometer function shows both the current air pressure and a chart of recent pressure changes. This is summarised in a simple graphic of either a rain cloud, sun or changeable.

The altimeter itself has multiple options, either allowing you to check altitude at specific times or track your changes in altitude over time through an easy to understand graph. It also includes a useful "Bike Mode" option for when you need rapid updates on your altitude. Finally, the system also allows for an alarm triggered by reaching a specific altitude.

With low RRPs of only £34.99 for the Digital Compass Watch and £44.99 for the Digital Altimeter Watch, it's clear that Highlander are sticking close to their philosophy of "The World Without Costing The Earth!".
